Anna Wojciuk graduated from the Institute of International Relations, University of Warsaw (MA thesis: International Criminal Justice and Its Impact on Peace and Security, 2004; cum laude) and the Institute  of Philosophy, University of Warsaw (MA thesis: Alexis de Tocqueville’s Normative Project of Democracy, 2006). She was a Ph.D. student in the Graduate School for Social Research, Polish Academy of Sciences (2005-2009). She defended her Ph.D. in International Relations at the University of Warsaw (Ph.D. dissertation: Evolution of the Notion of Power in the Theory of International Relations and its Analytical Applications). Dr Wojciuk received The Kukulka Prize for the best Ph.D. dissertation concerning theoretical aspects of IR (2010).

Anna Wojciuk was a Fernand Braudel Fellow at the EUI, Florence (2017/18),  Visiting fellow at Harvard University (Department of Government and Harvard Kennedy School of Government, 2008/2009), a Visiting scholar at Columbia University in New York (School of International and Public Affairs, 2008), in European University Institute in Florence (2013), Cornell University (2016), and at  CERI Sciences-Po in Paris (Chercheur invité, 2009). During her MA studies she spent one year at Sciences-Po in Aix-en-Provence within the Erasmus-Socrates exchange program. In 2011 Anna Wojciuk took part in the Essex Summer School in Social Sciences and Data Analysis 2011 (regression analysis and comparative methods) and in the Institute for Qualitative and Multi-Method Research, the Maxwell School of Syracuse University in 2014. Within the STA Erasmus program she had guest lectures in University of Copenhagen, Aarhus University and Universidad de Barcelona.

Anna Wojciuk is a winner of the scholarship of the Polish Minister of Science for outstanding junior scholars, she has taken part in four research grants funded by the Polish National Science Foundation and one funded by the Kosciuszko Foundation (2008/2009).

Anna Wojciuk worked (2006/2008) for the Polish Television (TVP2), during that time she was making documentary movies (“The Correspondent” series) about international armed conflicts, sending a TV crew to DR Congo, Somalia, Uganda, Afghanistan, Irak, Birma, and other countries. She co-directed a documentary about UNICEF’s involvement in Ethiopia

As a hobby she likes backpacking,dancing and drama theatre.

I invite students who would like to develop a theoretical angle in their dissertations and who are interested in learning how to thoroughly design their research. Areas of expertise: IR theory, IR methods, political philosophy.
