About

A graduate of the Institute of International Relations (2001) and the Warsaw School of Economics (Management and Marketing). Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Warsaw on the basis of the dissertation under the title The Social Responsibility of Multinational Enterprises (2006). Assistant Professor at the Institute of International Relations, University of Warsaw, Poland. Head of the Graduate MA Programme in International Relations – second-cycle studies based at the Institute of International Relations. Member of the Centre of Migration Research Council since 2008. In 2009, Dr Justyna Nakonieczna participated in a research project investigating migration systems of different immigrant groups and their admission to the Polish labour market, conducted by the Human Resource Development Centre financed from the European Social Fund.

Laureate of the 2nd Degree Award of the Rector of Warsaw University for her monographic work The Social Responsibility of Multinational Enterprises. Author of numerous articles discussing corporate social responsibility (CSR) in an international context and the relation between development and international migration, and comparative studies on poverty in developing countries.

Visiting Professor at foreign universities: the University of Florence (2008, 2009), the Autonomous University of Madrid (2009) and universities in Taiwan, inter alia, the Institute of International Relations of the National Chengchi University in Taipei, Tamkang University, Tunghai University and National Chung-Hsing University.

International political economy; social aspects of globalization, especially alter-globalization civil society movements; social responsibility of international business; international migration, transnational social movements; development issues, problems of poverty.
