Internships

STUDENTS’ INTERNSHIP:

Students of the Institute of International Relations (University of Warsaw) are encouraged to do an internship (lasting minimum 3 weeks or 120 hours) in private companies, administration, think-tanks, scientific organizations etc. Internships can be done also in the form of voluntary service. We remind that for those who started their undergraduate studies in 2011/2012 internship is obligatory!

IIR has established agreements with several partners which accept our students as internees. The list of our partners include e.g.:

  • Bank of China;
  • Centre for Eastern Studies;
  • ECHO (European Commission via Network on Humanitarian Assistance);
  • OCHA (UN via Network on Humanitarian Assistance);
  • HumanDoc (NGO),
  • Feel3 (company);
  • GT Future Communication (company);
  • HiFly (company);
  • Almatur-Polska S.A. (travel agency).

We cooperate also with Centre for International Relations, Pulaski Foundation, UN Information Center, City of Warsaw Office, Polish National Commission for UNESCO, Polish Institute of International Relations, Embassies, Ministries, President and Prime Minister Office.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION:

Students of undergraduate programme need to present a formal letter from the company/institution where their internship took place. It should include: student’s name, dates of internship and/or number of hours, name and position of the person who signed the letter, stamp of the institution and the person who signed the letter, student’s duties during the internship (linked to the field of studies).

The internship needs to be completed till the end of the 3rd year of studies. The practice needs to last at least 3 weeks or 120 hours.
The document should be presented to Dr Paula Marcinkowska during her office hours or left in her box in room 402.
IIR students, who are interested in being insured against accidents by the UW during their internship (the insurance covers Europe), are asked to send an e-mail to Dr Paula Marcinkowska, indicating: student number, place and dates of the internship (from-till), as well as PESEL or passport number.
